Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

It’s hard to believe that it’s nearly March and we’re already halfway through the school year!  Students in the Forward Scholars Tutoring program have been working hard to not only improve their reading and writing skills, but to improve their growth mindset.  They’re beginning to understand that they may not know how to do something “yet” but with effort and practice they will!  

This week students received a special “Reading Award” to acknowledge their successes in tutoring thus far.  On the back of the award is a chart that shows your student’s mid-year progress.  Students used that chart to help them identify their strengths and create a goal to work towards for the remainder of the school year.  

As a program, the average reading level growth of Forward Scholars students this 2024-2025 school year is .91. That’s almost a full year’s reading growth in only 3 months! Thank you for all you do at home to support them on their reading journey.
